Turning your IT challenges into successful results.

TRM Technologies wanted to make a clear and strong commitment towards addressing the issues of global warming and greenhouse gases. To do so we established a partnership with Trees for the Future. TRM’s commitment is to plant 240 trees for each consultant employed by the company for the year. That commitment translates to enough trees per consultant to sequester 12000 lbs of CO2 or 6 tons per year.  The cumulative contribution in just 4 years would offset the entire emissions per capita for the average family of each consultant working for TRM.

TRM Technologies is funding Trees for the Future (TftF) to plant fast growing, multi-purpose, region-appropriate trees. The trees will be planted in the name of our employees, consultants, and customers.

About Trees for the FutureVideo

Key Benefits Of This Program:

  • Each tree planted benefits the planet, no matter where it's planted, as our atmosphere moves so quickly across oceans and national boundaries. These trees also improve the communities, by teaching sustainable agro-forestry and restoring tree cover and productivity to degraded lands.
  • TftF teaches and trains the world's communities not only to plant and grow trees, but also how to feed and sustain themselves economically with land-use systems that integrate local agriculture, trees, people, and animals, all in the same space. This results in improved soil quality, better water, higher crop yields, and improved standards of living. These methods have been practiced around the world in varying forms for thousands years, but forgotten in recent times.
  • TftF's agro-forestry techniques are tailored to the needs of the each community. In forest regions like the Caribbean, tree planting programs focus on large-scale reforestation and the promotion of non-timber forest products. In agricultural fields, fast-growing multipurpose tree species are integrated into the agricultural system for specific functions such as a windbreaks, fire-breaks, living fences, contour-planting for erosion control, alley-cropping to improve soil fertility to diversify products from a field and protect the fields from wind, water, animals, and fire.
  • TftF's agro-forestry program includes the planting of "forest gardens", multi-layered agro-forestry systems that leverage the diversity and productivity of a natural forest with species of plants and animals that are useful to humans.

Why Are We Doing This?

  • TRM Technologies believes that while we want help our customers build better systems in secure and protected environments, we also want to ensure that the environment we share is also being protected.  This partnership with Trees for the Future, along with other green initiatives will allow TRM and its employees to achieve and maintain a carbon neutral or negative footprint for the years to come while delivering services to our clients.
  • TRM Technologies Inc chose to support TftF because of their impeccable reputation, their 30 years of experience, and their proven methods of sustainable agro-forestry around the world.
  • Trees for the Future founder Dave Deppner puts it this way - "If we cannot develop projects that bring rapid economic rewards to the people in the planting region, there will be few, if any, participants.” "If economic development is to be done without the cooperation and management of these resources, it will soon fail."
